Comment below. On a positive note, the cinematography had a classic 80s feel to it and it made for a nostalgic watch despite the shallow story. There were underdeveloped plots and the characters were not interesting. Overall, it was a fairly enjoyable film to watch but there were a lot of inconsistencies to it. They just shot any person who was within the vicinity-infected or otherwise. One aspect that seemed unrealistic in the film was when the infection control personnel and army did not even bother explaining what was happening to those who were not infected. The only interesting character in the film was Deputy Olsen, although he can be frustrating and despicable at times. The dialogue was poor and failed to be witty. There were some funny moments in the film, however, the acting was mediocre and seemed forced. It may sound like a basic teen rom-com, but what makes this entirely unique is the hardcore gore that surrounds the story. His best friend is also an unpopular weirdo who just wants to get some action before graduating from high school. The main protagonist, John, is your typical geeky kid who is in love with a beautiful, popular, blonde girl. This sequel however is set in the surrounding town and follows what immediately happened after the end of the first film. Despite its title, the premise deviates from the original film, which was a story about teens who were in an actual cabin when the infection happened. It’s also the second installment in the Cabin Fever franchise. The Grave ReviewĬabin Fever 2: Spring Fever (2009) is best classified as a horror-comedy (although may not be intended to be) that serves as a sequel to the highly successful film by Eli Roth of the same name. Viewers beware, it might not be a good idea to eat a snack while watching this with all the throwing up happening throughout the film. The special effects used to depict the disgusting flesh-eating bacteria is excellent and almost believable. It has over-the-top violence that might be too unpleasant for some viewers. Now John and his friends must find a way to escape and survive before they get infected themselves. The infection starts to spread at the high school prom through the distribution of the contaminated water bottles and the school is immediately locked down. Olsen is horrified to see that the man was a worker from the water bottling company, so he races out to inform the officials about the contamination. In a diner downtown, Deputy Olsen is having a meal when a worker dies out of nowhere from an apparent infection. John agrees and at the same time plucks up the courage to ask Cassi out, but unfortunately gets turned down. His best friend Alex (Rusty Kelly) calls him and convinces him to go, saying he needs his support. Meanwhile, John (Noah Segan) is an unpopular high school kid who worries whether he should go to prom with his crush, Cassi (Alexi Wasser). His splattered remains are mistaken for a moose by Deputy Winston Olsen (Giuseppe Andrews) until he sees a foot dangling on a nearby tree. As Paul makes his way to the main road, he suddenly gets hit by an incoming school bus. The creek is revealed to lead to a water bottling plant.
